As development of cross-border cooperation and promotion of Russia as the mistress of the World Cup 2018, management of Consulting group "TEAM" and Russia National team supporters club RUSSIA UNITES visited Finnish cities Kotka and Lappeenranta. The meetings with the management of organizations of Kymenlaakso and South Karelia regions were held aimed to the preparation of events dedicated to World Cup 2018 in Russia.
Edward Latypov, President of Russia National team supporters club Russia Unites, member of the Board of TEAM: «The World Cup is a global event, attracting the attention of hundreds of millions of people around the World. It is the most important event of next year for Russia, but also for our neighbors. After all, Finland is only some 200 km away from St. Petersburg, one of the capitals of the upcoming FIFA World Cup».
Viktor Mironov, Managing Director of TEAM: «The border cities of Finland are already thinking how to join the World Cup. Kotka is interested in a family and sports oriented format of Football Park. This concept is now being developed by TEAM, with the support of the RUSSIA UNITES club on the basis of the experience of the Fan Zones in St. Petersburg, the one for hockey 2016 and for football 2017. Lappeenranta would like to use an international airport and a developed infrastructure for transit flows of tourists and fans from Europe to Russia. There are many possibilities, it is important to use them properly!»
The negotiations were held with representatives of the city Halls of Kotka and Lappenranta, regional development Agency Cursor, the Management of the Football Federation of the region.
